Studying information means studying information exchange. This insight pervades much of current research in computer science, logic, game theory, and related disciplines, where researchers worldwide are comparing and combining approaches to intelligent interaction.
This book contains the invited lectures and contributed papers of the first international "Workshop on Logic, Rationality, and Interaction" held in Beijing, August 2007, as a joint initiative of the Chinese and Dutch logic communities. It contains papers on a wide variety of aspects of intelligent interaction, mostly written in logic as their 'lingua franca', but with backgrounds also in linguistics, philosophy, economics, and indeed, the history of Chinese logic.
